Privacy policy

This policy explains what the GameNight iPhone app ("GameNight", "we") collects, why, and the choices you have. We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.

What we collect

• Account: your email address and the display name you choose. We use your email only to send sign-in codes and to answer support requests.
• Profile: the bio, prompts, and selfie you add. These stay on your phone and are shared only with nearby GameNight users over Bluetooth when you turn on Discoverable.
• Games: games you host or join, their details (title, time, venue), join requests, and which team you're on.
• Chat messages: 1:1, team, and game messages you send online, so they can be delivered to the people in that conversation and shown as history.
• Device token: if you allow notifications, a push token so we can tell you about new messages.
• Blocks: people you block, so they can't message you.

Location and Bluetooth

GameNight uses Bluetooth to find other GameNight users in the same room, and your location (when you allow it) to work out your ZIP code on your phone. We don't store your precise location on our servers.

Who can see what

1:1 messages are visible only to you and the other person. Team chats are visible to your team, and game chats to everyone who joined that game. Your display name is shown to people you play or chat with.

Where data is stored

Account and online data is stored with Amazon Web Services in the United States. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete your account, profile, device tokens, and messages you sent. Sign-in codes expire within minutes.

Your choices

• Delete your account in the app under Profile → Delete account, or email support@gamenight.help from your account's email address.
• Turn off Discoverable, Bluetooth, location, or notifications at any time.
• Block anyone so they can't message you, and report messages that break the rules.

Children

GameNight isn't for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
